Communal Living Recipes: Kamal Masi’s Shikanjvi and Lassi

BEVERAGE

Kamal Masi's Shikanjvi

Ingredients

  • 2 lemons
  • 1 small chunk of ginger
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • Several mint leaves or 1 teaspoon of rose water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black salt (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder or jal-jeera powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • Several ice cubes

Instructions

  • Squeeze the juice of two lemons and add to jug
  • Mix in the rest of the ingredients
  • Refrigerate for one hour
  • Add ice cubes and serve
  • Enjoy!
BEVERAGE

Kamal Masi's Lassi

Ingredients

  • 1 spatula full of plain yogurt
  • 6 glasses of water
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of salt (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of black salt (to taste/optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder (to taste/optional)
  • Several ice cubes

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients into a jug
  • Refrigerate for one hour
  • Add ice cubes and serve
  • Enjoy!
