Like so many others, my parents, Nirmalendu Kishore and Dulu Paul, came to the United States in search of opportunity. They worked hard and sacrificed to make sure I had every imaginable opportunity here. Now, it’s time for me to make sure they are taken care of – and for them to have a little fun.
An essential part of that fun is community. Where my parents come from, life is all about people. People are everywhere, and they spend lots of time together. There is always a connection to others. Here in the U.S., we live much less connected lives. Getting together can be challenging, especially as we age.
At Priya Living, we believe that life is better when people are together. Our mission is to create inspired places where community is fostered, and where the fun and adventure don’t end at a certain age. We also want to celebrate the joys of life in America, and one of those joys is living in a diverse society. We endeavor to create an inclusive environment where all are welcome, to celebrate a special culture.
Priya is a Sanskrit word that means “beloved.” It reminds us of where we draw our inspiration, and to whom we owe our gratitude.
